We have an Ag Consulting Company that is looking to expand their consulting division by adding a Crop Advisor. This company uses tools to help in making recommendations to farmers on input selection, production practices, fertility recommendations, hybrid selections, etc. The personnel in this division are skilled agronomists, who become trusted advisers to the growers they service. The recommendations made are the lead service with scouting and soil sampling also being involved. This adviser would cover the northern half of Indiana.
As a Crop Advisor, you do not sell a product. You are simply providing your consulting service to the grower to help them make the best decisions for their corn and bean crops. Farmers are charged a fee per acre for the full consulting package that includes data analysis, soil sampling and crop scouting.
Only those who are experienced in agronomy sales or ag consulting will be considered for this position. We are looking for someone to be exceptional in their agronomic knowledge and be very familiar with precision ag, analyzing data, etc.
Some minimum qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in either Agronomy Sales, Technical Agronomy Advisor, or Agronomy Consultant
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Ag related field
- Proven track record of sales growth
- Desire to cold call and grow the business from the ground up
All advisers work out of their own home office, receive a solid base salary plus incentives.
