Service Manager

Job Location: Orange City, Iowa

Today we are working with one of the top John Deere equipment companies, with multiple locations in NW Iowa that is seeking a high-energy, positive individual to fill the position of Service Manager.  Previous experience and knowledge of large agriculture equipment or commercial/turf equipment is welcomed but not required. Someone that puts the customer as the number one priority is of utmost importance!  The Service Manager will oversee and lead the Service Department through employee development and customer satisfaction as the highest priorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, build and train all Service Department employees
  • Goal setting and budgeting in alignment with the Store Manager’s financial and operational objectives for the location
  • Develop and execute Service Department marketing plan and monitor to ensure achievement of departmental goals
  • Assign the team to coordinate field days, clinics and other promotional events
  • Oversee all service warranty claims to receive maximum credit
  • Delegation of jobs to employees according to their skills and knowledge
  • Review work orders for accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles so to be in good working order
  • Develop, communicate, enforce and monitor effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Service Department operations – John Deere experience preferred
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Must be familiar with John Deere and competitive products
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Excellent customer service skills
